These Sonde Transmitter Housings are designed for horizontal boring in soil conditions that vary from sand, clay, shale and other variations. They are designed for use with OEM bolt pattern pilot bits, and they are not recommended for use in solid rock. To locate your appropriate housing and drill string, simply type your drill model in our search box.
Railhead's INCREDIBIT® drill head is named for its ability to bore and steer through tough, rocky conditions. Its patented technology allows contractors to accomplish bores in ground that can not be drilled with conventional bits. And, it allows smaller machines to drill through some conditions that would otherwise require a mud motor. It is truly a multipurpose bit that steers through soft conditions as well as rock and cobble.
Triple D's pilot bits are manufactured from domestically produced Ballistic Armor plate on in-house CNC machines. The carefully selected armor plate has greater abrasion resistant characteristics than standard AR rated steels. The conical bits, teeth and carbide buttons used on our HDD bits are quality manufactured in the USA for long service life. For added durability, try our bits with Tungsten Carbide Emedded Hardfacing. This offers a 2 to 8 times better wear life than typical hardfacing alloys.
The INCREDIBIT® bores in an entirely different manner than any other bit. Rather than using simple abrasion, the INCREDIBIT® fractures rock in a random elliptical pattern. It "dances" in the hole, allowing the INCREDIBIT® to be productive in all kinds of soils and formations.
Our horizontal directional drilling backreamers are designed to tackle the toughest soils including sandstone and clay. They are manufactured from heat treated alloy steel for strength and durability, and custom options and sizes are available as well.
Triple D Lead Rods are made with heat treated 4140 chrome-moly steel for strength and durability, delivering 152,000 psi tensile strength. Triple D also offers high strength 4340 Nickel Steel for select Vermeer Lead Rods, which makes them the strongest standard product on the market today at 182,000 psi tensile strength.
(18) All drive collars are manufactured from heat treated chome-moly steel for durability, and are available with hard facing. The collars are made for Ditch Witch and Vermeer tooling.
Comstar Supply offers drill stems for all of the major horizontal directional drills. If you do not see your drill model listed, please contact us for more information.
(9) All Triple D Drive Chucks are machined from 5" solid billet heat treated chrome-moly steel for maximum strength and performance for both Vermeer and Ditch Witch rigs.
(7) Protect your drive chuck and drill rod investment with one of Triple D's direct replacement Sub Savers. Now you can protect your drive chuck by simply unscrewing and replacing your worn our Sub Saver with a new heat treated, chrome-moly steel, 163,000 psi tensile strength unit from Triple D.
